Why See A Dentist?

Healthy teeth and gums are vital to your overall health at any age. Effective home care and a healthy diet are not enough. Regular checkups and regular cleanings are also necessary for healthy teeth and gums, good overall health, and to help prevent expensive dental treatment.

80% of adults have Gingivitis and gum disease. Gingivitis increases your risk of diabetes, heart disease, Alzheimer’s, and several other health related issues. You can reduce your risk of Gingivitis and gum disease by practicing good oral hygiene, eating a balanced diet and seeing a dentist regularly for proper maintenance and preventative treatments. SEEING A DENTIST REGULARLY CAN LITERALLY SAVE YOUR LIFE!

How Often Should I See My Dentist?

Each person is unique. While many people see their dentist every six months, it is important to follow the recommendation and treatment solution customized for your unique needs. Some gum problems require more frequent care to maintain health and prevent tooth loss.

What Happens When I Visit The Dentist?

During your checkup, you will receive a thorough cleaning by one of our highly trained hygienist followed by an oral exam by Dr. Oancea. She checks the overall health of your mouth, teeth, gums, cheeks, and tongue. He also checks old dental work for wear or breakage due to grinding, chewing, or clinching.

Will It Hurt?

At Today’s Dental, we make every effort to make you as comfortable as possible during treatment. We offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas), topical tissue anesthetic, and much more. We are here to help and want visiting our office to be a pleasant experience.

What If My Teeth Are Fine?

Regular checkups are critical to maintain a healthy smile. In addition to maintenance and prevention Today’s Dental offers a variety of other services to enhance your smile and give you a smarter, more confident look. These services include;
  • Professional Teeth Whitening
  • Natural looking fillings or veneers
  • Tooth replacement with implant crowns
  • Night guards
  • Sport mouth guards
  • Snore Guards
  • Oral Cancer screening

What Should I look for In a Dentist?

Choosing the right dentist for your family does not have to be overwhelming. Here are a few simple guidelines to help you find the best dentist for your family. Visit the office and answer the following questions;
  • Is the office welcoming?
  • Does the office appear to be clean and free of clutter?
  • Do you feel comfortable at the office?
  • Did they record your dental and medical history in a permanent file?
  • Does the dentist put you at ease?
  • Did the office listen to your needs?
  • Is the office updates and use modern technology?
  • Did the office explain your treatment recommendations and costs prior to scheduling your treatment?
  • Is the dentist a member of the American Dental Association (ADA)?
  • Is the office focused on your maintaining your overall health verses just a quick fix?
  • What is the dentist’s level of experience and how long have they been practicing?
  • Ask to see before-and-after photos of previous patients with a similar patient history. Discuss the similarities and differences between the patient cases in the photos and yours

Is Today’s Dental currently accepting new patients?

Yes, Dr. Hale is currently accepting new patients for General Dentistry, Family Dentistry, Cosmetic Dentistry, and Restorative Dentistry. To make an appointment please call (281)580-0770.

What does it cost for a checkup?

The cost for the first appointment is less than $200 and is usually covered 100% by insurance reimbursement. The first appointment for a new patient includes x-rays, oral cancer exam, periodontal screening for gum disease and examining the teeth. From the information gathered, a treatment plan is made and prioritized to take care of the most urgent needs first.

Why can't I just have my teeth cleaned?

Think of it like this. You can just wax your car without washing it or doing any maintenance or repairs to the engine. This may make your car look better, but it would definitely be a very poor way of caring for your car.

Do you accept payment from my insurance?

We accept traditional insurance. For other insurance policies, out of network benefits do apply and payments are often similar to provider coverage. On your first visit, we will file your insurance to reimburse you for payment. On sub sequential visits, we allow payments from the insurance to be made directly to your account. Our staff is highly experienced in this area. Call us about your specific coverage and we can answer your questions. 281-580-0770

REMEMBER, IF ALL BENEFITS ARE NOT USED BY THE END OF THE YEAR, THEN THESE BENEFITS ARE LOST FOREVER.

When is payment due?

To be fair to all of our patients we accept payment at the time of service. We accept cash, checks, all major credit cards, and we work with an independent financing company: CareCredit®

How can I afford dental treatment?

We offer several payment options to best meet the needs of your family.

  • Today’s Dental will help you maximize any insurance benefits you have.
  • We accept all major credit cards, cash, check, and traditional insurance.
  • We work with an independent financing company: CareCredit®. You do have to apply for credit with this company, but the application process is confidential and only takes a few minutes. Some plans offer no interest and low payments.
  • Often, just by phasing your treatment, taking care of the most urgent needs first, we can fit the important health care in to your budget.

If you would like to review these financial arrangement options with one of our team members in advance of treatment, please call (281)580-0770

What is the difference between cosmetic and general dentistry?

The two disciplines go hand in hand. Both are necessary to ensure that the final results not only look great but are functional, healthy, and long lasting. Additional training in cosmetic dentistry, as our office has completed, is necessary for those beautiful smile makeovers.
